#Tbt Adonis… WTF? YOU CRAZY OR SOMETHING BRO?!! You gained 70 lbs in 4 months, lost your abs and gained man boobs all for someone @alissabethkane you never met? YEP 😬! But wait!!!! … Maybe YOU are the crazy one. Let me explain We are far too easily fooled. “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.” – Mohandas Gandhi You see, many will try to define success, greatness, and happiness in terms of winning out over others, having power over others, and having the ability to dominate others. The lust for power is common and widespread in humans – the power to order others around, the power to make decisions that will impact others, and the power to own when others cannot. Many see the world in the form of a pyramid with the ones on the bottom serving those on the top. And people long for that top spot because the world promises joy to those who sit there. Success, greatness, and happiness is found there… in winning out over others. But what if that thinking is all wrong? What if TRUE happiness is not found in lording authority over others – but instead, is found in living our lives for others? What if choosing to serve others was actually the pathway to true success and lastness greatness -#BecomingMinimalist #RescuedMyselfFirstTheniWentBack4Others #MentalTrainingBeforePhysicalTraining _______________________________________ AND IM STILL NOT DONE because I’M AS CRAZY AS IT GETS BRO! I DID IT TO PROVE A POINT & TO HELP SAVE LIVES! Yes I was 34 yrs old and diagnose with High Blood pressure! But at least I’m raising awareness. ITS TIME FOR CHANGE! More than 360,000 American deaths in 2013 included high blood pressure as a primary or contributing cause. That is almost 1,000 deaths EACH DAY. High blood pressure increases your risk for dangerous health conditions: First heart attack: About 7 of every 10 people having their first heart attack have high blood pressure. First stroke: About 8 of every 10 people having their first stroke have high blood pressure. Chronic (long lasting) heart failure:About 7 of every 10 people with chronic heart failure have high blood pressure. Kidney disease is also a major risk factor for high blood pressure. Although you cannot control all of your risk factors for high blood pressure, you can take steps to prevent or control high blood pressure and its complications. HAPPY TO REPORT I’M NO LONGER ON HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE MEDS 😬 … MY GOAL IS TO GET YOU OFF THOSE AS WELL _____________________________________ Before you are a leader, success is all about growing yourself. Wow!! Looking back at videos on my phone with my teammate @alissabethkane and it reminded me of something I read about the navy seals: The grueling nature of SEAL training, or any military training for that matter, engrains teamwork: no one makes it through training by themselves. You are always paired up with a «swim buddy,» a «battle buddy,» or partner, and you are always part of a boat crew or squad. Finally, you are part of a BUD/S class that typically starts out with 120-150+ students and graduates (six months later) about 25-40 on average. Those graduates are not necessarily the biggest, fastest, or strongest, but they are the ones with the highest mental toughness and are able to mesh into the team dynamics needed to succeed each day. Sure, fitness is critical to success and the more fit you are the less you have to rely on mental toughness. This combination of traits can help you focus on being a good team player and a superb communicator who supports classmates with any task. Putting everyone in a military team through the same training allows them to look at each other and know by body language what they’re saying and thinking – they’re able to communicate without speaking or writing. You cannot be an effective team member without stellar verbal and non-verbal communication. Effective team communication is not just about transmitting well, but having the necessary attention to detail to receive signs that are often very subtle. #TeamWorkMakesTheDreamWork #WeAreALLinThis2gether YOUR TURN! What???!!! You would take a selfie too after the looooooong year I just had. How did I do it? I just thought about the #Standard I created for myself some years back and how I made a commitment to stay true to MYSELF. Stay true to your standards and forget the status quo … Never be embarrassed to be who you are… «People will laugh behind your back but that’s none of your business, that’s theirs «-Adonis Hill (That’s Me 😬) #MindYourBusiness #YourMindIsYourOnlyBusiness STANDARDS are the behaviors you hold yourself to (as opposed to boundaries which are the behaviors you hold others to. Standards aren’t what you think you «should» do or what you think other people want or expect you to do. Rather, standards are behaviors that you commit to because they will help you be your best. Sometimes you will need to make difficult choices in order to honor your standards. For me it was … Do I rather go out and consume empty ass calories every weekend or do I not go out and work on becoming a better version of myself. ITS NOT ABOUT HAVING ABS!!!! Once you get used to maintaining your standards and begin to feel how great your life has become as a result, you will find yourself strongly adhering to your personal standards. Sit that ass down for a second, stay STILL and take a few minutes right NOW to make a list of 5 standards that are important to you and DIRECT MESSAGE / IN BOX / EMAIL me them and I will work on them with you. (source: psychology today,National Institute of Mental Health – National Institutes of Health, Ruth Hagarty) This weekend i will be responding to ALL MESSAGES!! _____________________________________ The sea does not reward those who are too anxious, too greedy, or too impatient. So you ask: How did @alissabethkane lose almost 60 lbs in 4 months (308lbs -250lbs) and ENJOY the process at the same time? …. It’s simple!
